Dear Colleagues,
Contributions are invited for the workshop "Cognition and Emotion in Economic Decision Making" to be held in Rovereto, Italy (a campus of Trento University) on 26-27 January 2007.
The workshop is a joint initiative of the European Association for Decision Making (EADM) and the International Association for Research into Economic Psychology (IAREP).
There will be three half-day sessions, each with a keynote speaker, on perspectives from psychology, economics and neurosciences. The keynote speakers are:
- Paul Slovic (psychology)
- George Loewenstein (economics)
- Alan Sanfey (neurosciences)
In order to foster interdisciplinary discussion, there will be only plenary sessions and one poster session. Speakers will have 30 minutes for their oral presentation including 15 minutes for discussion. The workshop website address is:
If you would like to contribute, please e-mail an informative abstract to emotion@form.unitn.it by 30th September 2006. Abstracts should be between 3000 and 5000 characters, structured under the subheadings introduction (including aims/ hypotheses), method, results, and conclusion. As an alternative to oral presentation, please indicate if you would wish to offer your contribution as a poster.
A selection of graduate students or Post-Docs (not faculty members) will receive capped reimbursement for travel or lodge expenses (upon presentation of original receipts). The reimbursement is up to 100¤ for students who attend an Italian university, and up to 200¤ for students who attend other universities. Those wishing to apply are requested to send their personal data and current academic status with the abstract by September 30th.
After the workshop a special issue of selected papers will be published by the journal Mind and Society. Papers of all posters and oral presentations will be considered for inclusion in the special issue (the submission date for full papers will be announced later).
