Special Issue on Atmospheric Influences in Hedonic Consumption in the International Journal of Culture, Tourism and Hospitality Research

Special Issue Editors: Mark Bonn and Sacha Joseph-Mathews
PURPOSE AND SCOPE: This special edition serves to highlight the role of atmospherics and the service environment in the tourism and hospitality sectors. For decades most of the work in atmospherics has focused on the retailing arena with very little emphasis for other service sectors. This edition seeks to showcase the role of atmospherics in the services that focus on tourism and hospitality management.
POSSIBLE TOPICS MIGHT INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Role of Atmospherics in Hedonic Services
- Atmospherics and Repeat Patronage
- Architecture and Tourism
- Themed Restaurants and Hotels
- Theme Park Atmospherics
- Social Atmospherics in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality
- Online and Offline Atmospherics
- Atmospherics in Utilitarian versus Hedonic Consumption
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
All proposed paper presentations must be submitted to the selection process. All submitted papers must represent original research that has not been presented in other conferences or published in any journal. For each submission, papers longer than the required page limit including tables, figures, references, and appendices will be reviewed based on the required page limit only. Authors’ names and affiliations should only be indicated on the first page (a cover sheet) and not shown in the body of the submission. Please clearly identify, on this cover sheet, paper title, the subject area the paper addresses and type of paper submission as well as author name(s) and contact information.
Send only electronic submissions. A file (please only send Microsoft Word files as attachment to e-mails). The selection process for paper presentation involves a double blind review of papers. For the selection process, each paper should meet the following guideline:
– Refereed full papers should not exceed 30 pages of double spaced, typed text including references, appendices and tables.
Please submit your papers (as an attachment) by November 1st 2006, to Mark Bonn (mbonn@cob.fsu.edu) or Sacha Joseph-Mathews (sacha.joseph@gmail.com). Please feel free to contact the guest editors to discuss ideas and potential topics.
Authors whose submissions are accepted will be requested to send full papers directly to the guest editors. Author guidelines are available on the journal website:
