First Position

The Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University announces a search for a new faculty member to join the Department of Marketing at the assistant or associate level in the Fall 2007.  Applicants at the assistant professor level must have completed, or be in the final stages of completing, a doctoral degree.  Applicants at the associate level must have a record of excellence in scholarship.  Each application will be reviewed on the basis of the candidate’s potential for impactful scholarly research, excellence in teaching, and willingness to contribute to university service.

The Marketing Division of Columbia Business School is currently searching for qualified candidates for positions at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks.

Candidates for these positions should have a PhD degree from an accredited institution.  Candidates for the assistant professor position must complete their Ph.D. within the first year of employment and should have good research training and potential for outstanding research and teaching. Associate Professor applicants should have a demonstrated record of outstanding research and teaching. Full Professor applicants are expected to additionally have a proven track record of institution building, service, and mentorship. Candidates with significant experience in teaching may be considered for a one-year contract appointment as visiting faculty at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor levels.

The Columbia Marketing Division is also interested in identifying highly qualified individuals, preferably with significant experience in the instruction of graduate students, for potential appointments as adjunct faculty.

Tenure-Track Marketing Position for Fall, 2007

Rank and Salary: Assistant or Associate Professor with a competitive salary depending on rank and qualifications.

Responsibilities:   The College of Business is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track marketing position starting August 2007 at the assistant or associate professor level.  While we have some flexibility in teaching assignments, we are particularly interested in a faculty member who would be interested in teaching Consumer Behavior and Introduction to Marketing.  A normal teaching load is 6-9 hours per semester.  Scholarly activity and research output are expected.

General: Montana State University-Bozeman is a land grant university with enrollment of approximately 12,000.  The College of Business is AACSB accredited and has approximately 1,200 majors.  The college places high priority on excellence in undergraduate business education offering a BS degree in Business with options in Finance, Accounting, Management, and Marketing, and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree.  A recent gift was used to create the Bracken Center for Excellence in Undergraduate Education, providing structure and support for faculty and students.  The College recently created three new minors in Entrepreneurship, International Business, Management of Information Technology and formed the Center for Entrepreneurship for the New West.  The Entrepreneurship program was recently recognized by Entrepreneurship magazine as being one of the top 10 programs nationwide (for more information see ).   MSU-Bozeman is located in Bozeman, Montana a city of over 30,000 in the heart of the northern Rocky Mountains.  Excellent schools, a very low crime rate, a vibrant cultural and arts scene, and one of the most outstanding scenic and outdoor recreation areas of the nation make it a highly desirable place to live and work. 

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Marketing from an AACSB accredited University required by start date.   (Interview preference will be given to applicants with degree in hand.  Applicants with dissertation defense scheduled prior to July 2007 may be considered.) 
  • Demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and for contributing to the research and creative activity component of the College’s mission.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated outstanding teaching,
  • A record of high quality scholarly publications.
  • Managerial, entrepreneurial or consulting experience

Tenure-Track Positions – Marketing Area

The Haskayne School of Business is seeking qualified candidates to fill two (2) tenure-track positions at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in marketing.  Preference will be given to candidates with interest in a program of research emphasizing B2B marketing, marketing channels, marketing strategy, or market planning.  Candidates must possess a PhD, a strong publishing record, and a demonstrated capability for teaching core marketing courses.  The normal teaching load in the Haskayne School of Business is two courses per semester (four per year).  A reduced teaching load may be negotiated in the first year.  Research support is offered to all new hires.  Anticipated starting date is July 1, 2007.
