NEW position

Assistant Professor, Department of Marketing, position number pending approval, UHM College of Business Administration, (Manoa), tenure-track, full-time, anticipated to begin Fall 2007, subject to position clearance and availability of funds.

Position

The Department of Management & Marketing at the University of Wyoming is inviting applications for at least two tenure-track positions at the assistant and/or associate level.  Salary is commensurate with rank, qualifications, and experience.

Qualifications

The focus of the marketing group is economic development and community well-being.  Individuals interested in conducting scholarly research in these areas and/or those who could contribute to the research synergies of the current faculty are particularly encouraged to apply.  Current marketing faculty research interests include consumer behavior, business-to-consumer strategy, macromarketing, public policy, and ethics.  The teaching load is two courses per semester.  Experience or interest in teaching marketing research, integrated marketing communications, product management, entrepreneurship, channels, services, or retailing is a plus.

Candidates for this position will have prior industry and/or teaching experience and a Ph.D. in marketing from an AACSB-accredited university or from another recognized school.  Candidates should demonstrate the ability to publish research in quality journals and to teach effectively in undergraduate and graduate courses.  Candidates should have an interest in providing service to the University of Wyoming and to the marketing discipline.  Finally, candidates should be committed to enhancing a collegial environment.

Closing and Appointment Dates

Initial screening of applications will begin on June 23 and continue until the positions are filled.  The appointments will begin August 2007, or sooner if appropriate.

Responsibilities

Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing

The Management and Marketing Department has a tenure-track opening for an assistant or associate professor of marketing starting August 15, 2007.  Responsibilities include effective teaching in various marketing topics in the MBA and undergraduate programs; developing a productive research program; and mentoring students.  Qualifications for the position include a Ph.D. or equivalent in marketing from an AACSB International – accredited business school. Preference will be given to candidates who have a record of quality teaching plus published research.  Additionally, the preferred area of expertise is Marketing Management/Marketing Strategy.  An interest in International Marketing is also a plus.  Candidates for the Associate Professor position are expected to have an established record of scholarship with publications in solid peer-reviewed journals.

The Management and Marketing Department has twelve full-time faculty with a strong commitment to outstanding teaching, quality research, and a collegial organizational culture.  The department houses the Family-Owned Business Institute, Genave King Rogers Business Law Center, and TU Innovation Institute.  The College of Business Administration is AACSB International accredited and is organized into three departments – Accounting and MIS, Finance and OM, and Management and Marketing – with approximately 40 full-time business faculty members.  The CBA faculty engage in scholarship within their disciplines and also conduct inter-disciplinary scholarship with colleagues from other departments.  The College has a current enrollment of approximately 700 undergraduate business students and 200 graduate business students.  The College offers the BSBA, BSIBL, MBA, MTAX, and MS in Finance degrees plus some joint degrees.  The College has numerous partnerships with universities in various parts of the world as well as excellent relationships with business and not-for-profit organizations in the region.
