CALL FOR PAPERS
Competitiveness has always been a source and means for ensuring national and market prestige, stature, productivity, standard of living and national security. However, competitiveness today assumes additional dimensions where the interplay between firm, industry, national and cultural factors are increasingly complex.
This conference is a forum for academicians, business leaders, policy makers, researchers and students to exchange and discuss ideas, to reflect on experiences and approaches, and to strengthen the spirit of cooperation and collaboration for improved competitiveness. It will be a perfect venue to present and discuss research findings and current practices pertaining to the various facets and sources of competitiveness in and across nations.

The International Society for Competitiveness and its parent organization American Society for Competitiveness () are international associations comprised of academics, business executives, and policy makers who share a commitment to improving competitiveness at individual, firm, industry, country, region and global levels. The Society publishes four journals that are all listed in the Cabell’s Directory, EBSCO database, etc.: J. of Global Competitiveness, Advances in Competitiveness Research, Competitiveness Review and Competition Forum.
PES group of institutions (), Bangalore, offers a number of high quality educational programs in fields ranging from bio-technology and engineering to business management. This conference is co-hosted by the PES School of Management Studies, Bangalore. PES publishes an international peer-reviewed journal called PES Business Review. Papers presented at the conference are also eligible for submission to this journal and will be peer reviewed as per journal policy.

Submission of Papers/Abstracts/Cases
The deadline for the receipt of submitted papers and abstracts is September 1, 2006. To facilitate the blind peer review process, the first page should include: Title of paper, authors’ name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and phone and fax number(s). The second page should repeat the paper title but should contain no information that would identify author or institution. Please use MS Word. To be considered for publication in one of the journals of the ISC, full papers are to be submitted. Please send the paper by e-mail (preferably) OR mail four copies of the paper, abstract or symposium proposal to.

Residential participants at conference venue: Check in time will be 1 p.m. on January 10, and check-out time will be 12 noon on January 13.
Non-residential participants: Other hotels in the vicinity include the 5-star Cidade the Goa (approx. tariff of $ 125 per night) and several others in Panaji (Panjim) are also within few minutes from the venue for a range of tariffs from $50 to $250 per night.
