The “UTCC International Conference in Business 2006” is held by School of Business, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, during October 26-27, 2006 in Bangkok, Thailand. The primary objective of the conference on the theme “Revolution for the New Era Competition” is to bring together eminent academics and practitioners around the globe to discuss and exchange ideas on all management dimensions to achieve an organization’s effectiveness and efficiency. With respect to this “UTCC International Conference in Business 2006,” the research, articles, and case studies presented in the conference will focus on revolution, creativity, and innovation on management approaches to accomplish competitive advantage and successful performance.

ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍøt the UTCC School of Business

Founded in 1963 by the Thai Chamber of Commerce, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) is a famous non-profit private university in Thailand with a student population of about 20,000. It offers degrees in business administration, accountancy, economics, humanities, science, communication arts, engineering, and law.

UTCC cooperates with many universities in the USA, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand, for example, University of Chicago, Depaul University, Texas A&M University, University of Oregon, Eastern Illinois University, Washington State University, Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, University of Waikato, Guangxi University for Nationalities, Nagaoka University of Technology, Yunnan Normal University, and so on. The areas of activities include visits to the campus, academic discussions, faculty and student exchange, research collaboration, short-period study tours, and so forth.

Presently, UTCC’s School of Business has about 10,000 students in both the undergraduate and graduate programs, taught by about 80 full-time faculty members plus a variety of adjunct instructors who are academics and business people. It offers both Thai and international (English) programs.

Call for Papers

The School of Business, University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC), invites you to participate in the UTCC International Conference in Business 2006, focusing on the theme “Revolution for the New Era Competition”

The conference aims to share research knowledge that exists around the world in the area of business. It will take place during Thursday October 26 and Friday October 27, 2006 at the super luxurious Shangri-la Hotel in the heart of Bangkok beside the charming Chao Praya River. We invite you to savor the pleasure from the warm welcome that Bangkok and its people present. You can enjoy Thailand—a land of smile rich in culture, natural beauty, food, entertainment, and shopping fun (see more details about the country at www.tourismthailand.org). In particular, Bangkok was voted the World’s Best City by Region in Asia and second World’s Best Award by the Travel and Leisure Magazine, while Chiangmai (in the north of Thailand) was given the fifth World’s Best Award and Phuket (in the south) the second World’s Best Island in Asia.

Manuscripts are invited in the form of competitive papers, case studies, research in progress, special sessions, and doctoral research papers in any of the following track areas:

  • strategic management,
  • entrepreneurship,
  • marketing,
  • financial management,
  • human resource management,
  • organizational behavior,
  • international business,
  • industrial and operation management
  • hotel and tourism management
  • office management

The conference will address the following sub-themes:

  • Enhancing effective management in business and the workplace.
  • Comparative management studies on how business management is practiced around the world.
  • International development.
  • Revolutionary marketing and management models.
  • Global operations influenced by important environmental differences.

Manuscript Submission Guideline

All manuscripts must clearly state the name and affiliation of all authors, plus the name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number of the corresponding author.

Manuscript Format
 
Abstract length: maximum 300 words.
Manuscript length: maximum 40 pages (including everything), 12-point Times Roman font, A4 paper, one-inch margin on all sides, double spaced.
Submission format: Microsoft Word file or PDF file sent as an e-mail attachment. Put everything in one file.
Describe the objectives and contributions of the paper.

Full paper submission for review  – July 15, 2006
Notification of manuscript acceptance – August 31, 2006
Early-bird registration (registration fee of US$200) – September 15, 2006
Normal-rate registration (registration fee of US$250) – October 15, 2006
Student rate registration (US$100) – October 15, 2006
On-the-spot registration (US$270) – 16:00 on October 26 and 12:00 on October 27, 2006
