2006 WILLIAM F. O’DELL AWARD
The committee overseeing the voting process, made up of Aradhna Krishna (chair), Yuxin Chen, and Puneet Manchanda, is pleased to announce the winner of the William F. O’Dell Award. The recipients of the 2006 award for the Journal of Marketing Research article published in 2001 that has made the most significant, long-term contribution to marketing theory, methodology, and/or practice are Vikas Mittal and Wagner A. Kamakura, for their article “Satisfaction, Repurchase Intent, and Repurchase Behavior: Investigating the Moderating Effect of Customer Characteristics,” which appeared in the February 2001 (Volume 38, Number 1) issue.
The three (other) finalists were as follows: Hans Baumgartner and Jan-Benedict E.M. Steenkamp, “Response Styles in Marketing Research: A Cross-National Investigation” (May 2001); Harald J. van Heerde, Peter S.H. Leeflang, and Dick R. Wittink, “Semiparametric Analysis to Estimate the Deal Effect Curve” (May 2001); and Peter J. Danaher and Donald F. Mawhinney, “Optimizing Television Program Schedules Using Choice Modeling” (August 2001).

The O’Dell and Sheth awards, which carry plaque and cash prizes, will be presented at the ÂÜÀòÉç¹ÙÍø’s 2006 Winter Marketing Educators’ Conference, to be held February 17-20, 2006, at the Tradewinds Island Resort in St. Petersburg, FL, where the winners will be given the opportunity to present their articles during a special session.
