Subject: TEACHING: Student Projects and Intellectual Property Waivers
In one of our classes, companies that work with students on classroom projects have asked students to sign a confidentiality agreement as well as a waiver to the intellectual property rights to the materials produced by the students. Is this common? I’d like to hear from others what their experience has been with IP waivers on Class projects.
I’ll report my findings to the list. Please send comments to Colleen Collins-Dodd at Simon Fraser University
