The annual CIRM (Contemporary Issues in Retailing and Marketing) conference has become a well established event in the calendar. This year’s event will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, September 6th and 7th.
The theme is "Destinations and Locations: Exploring the Multiple Identities of Place", and we are now seeking contributions from both academics and practioners who are interested in the marketing, management or development of place. We are looking for submissions relating (but not restricted) to:
- Urban marketing and management
- Regeneration
- Place marketing and branding
- Destination marketing and tourism
- Community development
- Neighbourhood renewal
Submissions, in the first instance, should take the form of an abstract of 250 words. These should be sent to Dr Dominic Medway, Conference Chair (d.medway@mmu.ac.uk) by Monday 1st May, 2006, at the latest.
The venue for the Conference will be MMU Business School, close to the city centre, and with excellent public transport access.
The location of the Conference Dinner will reflect some of the conference themes: the futuristic Lowry Centre (www.thelowry.com) is at the heart of a major regeneration area, and the pre-dinner reception will be in the Centre’s Galleries where L S Lowry’s evocative images of an industrial urban past are displayed.
Further details of the conference will be posted on the website as they are confirmed:
